You’ll find plenty of modern-day venues for live theatre and musical performances as you explore our towns and villages. Discover the world-famous Mermaid Theatre in Windsor, where unique adaptations of children’s literature have been coming to life with intricate, hand made puppets and original musical scores, charming audiences for over 30 years. The Yarmouth Arts Regional Council was the first multi-purpose regional arts centre in Nova Scotia, featuring a playhouse and arts centre where there’s always something going on. Liverpool’s Astor Theatre is the oldest arts venue in the province with 103 years of entertaining South Shore residents with cinema, live theatre, and musical performances. Chester Playhouse offers a summer and fall theatre lineup as well as art exhibits, music and a chance to attend summer theatre school.
