For Every Season

Spring

Wake up in Southwest Nova Scotia to the crisp, fresh air of a spring morning. Spring is an exciting time in the region, when townsfolk and villagers shed their winter cloaks and celebrate the season of life. Festivals and events, like the Apple Blossom Festival, that pays tribute to our beginnings and commemorates our rich roots to the land, or the Liverpool International Theatre Festival that celebrates the talent of actors all around the world, kick off this favourite season.

Visit our many golf courses just opening for the season or explore our heritage and culture at one of our national historic sites, opening in May of each year.

Farmers in their fields preparing the land for planting prompt us to break out our bicycles and hiking boots and enjoy the budding nature. Whether it’s travelling along the dykes, built by Acadians centuries ago, hiking along our coasts, discovering the new treasures the ocean has washed ashore, visiting our lighthouses, or greeting the many species of birds returning from their winter homes, spring is a wonderful time to enjoy nature in Southwest Nova Scotia.
