Annapolis Valley
Kentville – Your Destination Point
Kentville is centrally located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. The New England Planters settled this historic town in the 1760s, following the expulsion of the Acadians. Originally called Horton's Corner, it was renamed in 1826 after the Duke of Kent visited the community. As the largest town in the valley, it serves as the professional center for legal, financial, and medical services. Downtown Kentville boasts a park-like setting, with lots of plantings, a town-wide trail system, tree lined streets, and ornamental lighting. Many retail shops, service stations, lodging establishments, pubs and fine dining facilities can be accessed easily from convenient free parking throughout town.
- Kentville Agricultural Research Centre to the east of town has been instrumental in developing the farming industry of Nova Scotia
- Kings County Museum in downtown Kentville, celebrates the history and peoples who made this part of the valley vibrant
- Memorial Park Complex to the west of town is the recreational hub of the valley
- Apple Blossom Festival, late May or early June is the largest festival of its type in North America
- Pumpkin People, in October each year, spring out of our gardens and lounge around the town and area
