Sable River
Once the site of a bustling lumber and ship building industry and a popular railway stop, Sable River is a village of about 300 and abounds with outdoor activities and adventure, including hiking, birding, canoeing & kayaking. The seasons change dramatically and better fall colour splendor cannot be found. The loop for the Sable River Walking Trail features Nova Scotia’s only swinging bridge and the local café, across from the historic old mill on the Tom Tigney River, boasts the best fish sandwich in the area.
