Argyle
The village of Argyle hugs the coastline along Route #3. Enjoy this delightful drive (or bike) in rural Nova Scotia - the scent of the fresh ocean breeze mingles with wild roses. The Argyle Abuptic Festival in July celebrates the community’s connection to the sea with dory and crate building races as well as tours of the harbour aboard fishing boats. Part of the Tusket Islands can be seen from Argyle - 365 islands form the chain, with names such as Murder Island and Owl’s Head. The beauty and tranquility of the Islands are unsurpassed.
- Goose Creek Marsh Wetlands: a1.5 km (1mi.) interpretive trail on Robert’s Island includes dykelands and is home to herons, osprey, geese, and kingfishers.
- Glenwood Park: This provincial picnic park just off Highway 103 is a great retreat for a lazy afternoon picnic or a refreshing freshwater swim.
